Cocoanut Cake, Filling, and Boiled Frosting

Cocoanut Cake

 2 cups sugar
1/2   "   Butter
1      "    sweet milk
3 1/2    "  Flour
1 teaspoon B. Powder
1/2      "     almond Ex.
4 eggs (whites)

 

Filling

1 grated cocoanut
1 cup sugar
2 eggs (whites)

 

Boiled Frosting

One pint granulated sugar with water to dissolve. Boil till it threads from spoon. Beat whites of two eggs stiff & add sugar -- Beating all the time.

 

Note:  Please remember that these are old recipes. The measurements they used may not have been the same as we use today!
