Billie J. Herring

San Angelo

Billie Jean Herring, 86, of San Angelo, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2016, in her home.

Billie was born in Ballinger on April 13, 1930 to Zid and Mildred Herring. She grew up on the family ranch in Nolan County and was a graduate of Divide High School. Billie worked for GTE in San Angelo for 30 years serving in a supervisory position for many of those years. She established many close relationships during her years at GTE that lasted until her death. Billie deeply loved the ranch she grew up on in Nolan County and the many close friends she made while growing up there. She appreciated good country music, the outdoors, and especially enjoyed the time she spent with her horses while growing up. Billie truly loved her family and will be missed, but she is now enjoying her time with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Zid Herring Jr. and E.S. (Snooky) Herring; and one sister, Hettie Mae Taylor.

Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Joy and Dalton Owens of Maryneal; two sisters-in-law, Jo Anne Herring of San Angelo and Jean Herring of Maryneal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thank you goes to Margaret Zamarron, Pearl Montano, Ruby Galvan, and Leilani Borja for their tireless care, love and support of Billie during the final days of her life on Earth.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2016, at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016, in Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger. Pallbearers will be Randy Herring, Will Taylor, Karry Owens, Ed Wilson, Eddie Zamarron and Kelly Granzin.

Arrangements are with Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Guests may register online at ballingerfuneralhome.com. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/gosanangelo/obituary.aspx?n=billie-j-herring&pid=179972947&fhid=26620#sthash.Yw92DQnv.OYcSCxnp.dpuf
