According to the family, William Henry Jackson had been to sea, and he worked in a railroad round house when he was married. Family information also says that he had been to see, apparently a sailor. William Henry Jackson married Emily Elizabeth Straley in Temple, Texas on May 22, 1892. According to their marriage certificate, J. A. Cox and Rosa Phelp were witnesses, apparently (the page was torn before the copy was made and is not clear). The Rev. Dr. Duncan, Pastor of the Episcopalian Church performed the ceremony. They moved to Fort Worth in 1899 according to family members. Mary Williams said that her mother told her he was a good provider when his health permitted. She also said that he had a talent for drawing. She refers to the mention of Surrey, England, and also that there was news of an estate forwarded to them, but the taxes were excessive and it was a long way to England; thus this was not searched out since they thought it to be useless. There may be naturalization records for him. Census:
