Beyond our Elusive William Daniel

In Limestone County Mortgage and Deeds Vol. 8, pages 336-337, there is a power of attorney signed by William Alexander and his wife Martha Alexander, formerly Martha Henderson, in which Bluford Henderson was given a power of attorney to act as their agent to secure and take possession of any property that has descended to them from Richard Henderson or Mary Henderson (deceased) late of Limestone County, AL. It was executed on the 6th day of February, A. D. 1850 in Marshall County, MS, so that puts into question the date of Mary Tinsley's death. At that time Martha Alexander signed a document that said she had been taken away from her husband and asked if this was her desire, and it was. It was filed on 7 Feb 1850 in Marshall County, MS. The documents were registered in the Judge of Probate's office in LImestone County, AL in Deed Book 8, pages 336-337.

She appears in the 1850 Census for Marshall Co, Mississippi, Southern Division. She is listed as 31 born in Tenn. There are some numbers in the last columns that may be tally figures used by the enumerator.
In 1860 She is still in Marshall Co., Mississippi, Waterford post office. She is listed as 42, but her birthplace is listed as Alabama. There are seven children.
In the 1860 census her family is shown two families after a family of Hendersons. Bluford Henderson is 57, m, farmer, $1000 value of real estate, $2500 value of personal estate, born in S. C. His wife, Susan, 47 was born in Tenn. They had eight children living with them, ages 8-21. The children living at home were all born in Mississippi. Perhaps they were related?
Her middle initial comes from Marshall Co. Cemetery Book by Bobby Mitchell, Spring Hill Cem., p. 115 (situated between Hwy 78 and Hwy 7 ) listing for their son:
Alexander John LF son of W and MM Feb 23 1856-Sept 4 1857 (Also, this is the same as the FindAGrave record for John L. F. Alexander, memorial #15071837.)
