Shared note
|
She wrote several of the letters in CEMcD's notes with much family history. On pg 13 of these notes, in her letter dated 9 Apr 1959 she says, "I, Mary Frances Daniel, married Henry N. Moorer... He was a school teacher... After the death of my mother and father I married ... where I will be buried. ... covers above information. In the notes sections her information is labeled MDR. On p. 18, CEMcD notes, she mentions the visit from a great-grand niece, her husband, and her little daughter. Also, the marriage of her great-grand-daughter, to take place the 4th of Sept. No date on the letter, but the one before is dated 10 Aug 1959. could be a "step-". The bride lived in Montgomery, 60 miles away. At this point, the identity of these two young women is not clear. The bride could have been a step-daughter's daughter. The niece, possibly from one of Maude's children, since Mary and Maude were sharing a home at that time. Several times Mary refers to being "distantly related" to Coleman Daniel, son of "Miller Tom", son of Thomas (1794)..according to the way relationships are calculated today, she is a second cousin, once removed; (or 3rd cousin of Colman's son Cullen Coleman Daniel). According to Chester E McDonald, they had the same birthday, only Mary was 50 yrs older. |
