Information from James Daniel says that on 26 Nov 1923, a summons #330 for a lunacy hearing was issued for Mrs. Ellie (sic) Z. Daniel. The jury of 6 men voted 2 yes and 4 no.

James supplies the following obituary from the Glen Rose Reporter, 27 May 1966 (glued in a loose leaf book at the Library of Glen Rose Somerville Co. TX Historical Society): Mrs. Ettie Daniel dies in Fort Worth; Mrs. Ettie Daniel, 83, widow of Dr. J. G. Daniel, a longtime doctor in Glen Rose, died at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth Friday morning, May 27. Mrs. Daniel was born in Johnson Co., May 24 1883, and had been a resident of Glen Rose 50 years before moving to Burleson several months ago to make her home. Funeral services were conducted at 2pm Sunday in Glen Rose Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. L. Glaze, pastor of First Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in Squaw Creek Cemetery. Survivors include one sister and two brothers.

At her husband's death she was bequeathed their house and furnishings. When she died it would pass to Mrs. Virginia Cox and J. C. Daniel. Other children, O. U. Daniel and Myrtle Louise Wilson, would be given $10 each. It was dated 24 Sept. 1936.
Note: There is a divorce record in the District Clerk's Office, McLennan Co. Courthouse, Waco, TX for J. G. Daniel vs. Ruth Daniel (#9728-54th, D3-17). The case was apparently dropped, the records checked out and never returned. Could this be the same person? It was dismissed 10 Mar 1947 with many other cases, apparently in a mass housecleaning. However, the record could have been much older. There was no date or names in the records themselves.

Death Certificate:
She was Etti Zane Daniels, born 24 May 1883 in Johnson County, Texas. Her parents were A. F. Eddleman and Millie Warren. She died at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth, Tarrant, Texas after a 1 1/2 week stay. She died 27 May 1966. Her usual residence was general delivery, Glen Rose, Texas. The residence was inside the city limits. She was a housewife. The informant was E. H. Eddleman. She died of renal shutdown (5 days), due to a pelvic abcess (8 days), due to diverticulitis. A fracture of the right hip contributed to her death. She fell in a nursing home, fracturing her right hip. The injury was an accident which occurred on 13 May 1966 at a rest home in Burleson. Burial was in Squaw Creek Cemetery in Somerville County, Texas.
