Just found some data on sister of Amanda named Nancy Ellen (born 10/28/1828 in Greenville, Butler Co., AL). This lady married twice, first to a James Phillips, and then to a L. B. Camp. She died i n Refugio Co., TX in 1902. Believe I must have gotten these two sisters mixed up when typing in the data. Got this information from a Barbara Farris who has a major listing of the Camp family o n Ancestry. I will be making the changes to my file, though too late for your copy.

This is an assumed location since there is no original grave marker.

Shared note

Note: I assume that Valentine Kirkpatrick died in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, since it appears that was the location of his home. Previously, he had lived in Mecklenburg County, but that was incorporated into Cabarras County at a later time. Also, his will was probated there.

The North Carolina land records show numerous purchases of land by Valentine Kirkpatrick.

Census:
1790, SALISBURY DIST, MECKLENBURG, NORTH CAROLINA, Series: M637 Roll: 7 Page: 373
Valentine Kirkpatrick, 1 (free males over 16), 3 (free males under 16), 3 (free white females), no other free persons or slaves)

1810, NO TWP LISTED, CABARRUS, NORTH CAROLINA, Series: M252 Roll: 39 Page: 266
Valentine Kirkpatrick, 1, 1, 3, 0, 1, 0, 0, 2, 0, 1, 2 (slaves)

The 1810 census is too difficult to figure out. It is very unclear.
