He arrived with his parents in New Orleans aboard the ship Plata on the 4 May 1891. He was named Emmanuele.

He played in the family's orchestra and seems to have composed music as well..

It appears that around 1943 he applied for citizenship. The application was apparently made 31 May 1943. The copy of notice by the Clerk to District Director was returned dated 4 Jun 1943. He applied to the U. S. District Court of the Southern District of Texas at Houston, #6965. He was Michael Emanuel Alessandro, born 22 Jun 1890 in Alia, Palermo, Italy. He was 52 years old, and a farmer. His residence was at Star Route, Palacios, Matagorda, Texas. He was male, white, ruddy complexioned, with brown eyes and black hair. He was 5 feet 4 inches tall, and he weighed 160 pounds. He had a cut scar on his right hand. He was white, and his nationality was Italy. His wife was Mary Kynerd. They were married 26 Nov 1914 in Waco, Texas. His wife was born in Killeen, Bell, Texas on 30 Jan 1894. She became a citizen by birth. They had five children. Mary Virginia, female, was born 22 Nov 1915 in Waco, Texas. She was living in Richmond, California. Michael, male, was born 1 Aug 1920 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was currently in the army. Anna Louise, female, born 6 Jan 1923 in St. Louis, MO, was currently living in Palacios, TX. David J., male, born 17 Jan 1933 in El Camp, TX was living in Palacios at that time. Van Byron, male, born 26 Nov 1934 in El Campo, TX was also living in Palacios, TX. Michael's last place of foreign residence was Alia, Palermo, Italy. He emigrated from Palermo, Italy, entering the United States at New Orleans, LA. He had entered under the name of Michael Emanuel Alessandro in 1891 on an unknown ship. He had not been absent from the United States for six months or longer after his lawful entry into the United States. He had never made an application for citizenship prior to that date. He swore his final oath of allegiance 4 Nov 1943. The petition was granted (line 7 of list number 173/3 and certificate 6075426).

He was Michael Emanuel Alessandro, born 22 Nov 1890 in Alia, Sicily, residing at 323 Morton, Palacios, Matagorda, Texas, USA, and married. He was an American citizen. He died at Wagner General Hospital in Palacios, Texas on 14 Aug 1969 at 4:45 PM. He was retired. He died of cardiac failure. Burial was on 15 Aug 1969 at Palacios Cemetery in Palacios. The names of his father and mother were not recorded.
