The Barton Harris McQueen Bible says that Mattie married Walter Cook (Selma). There is some question about her name and that of her sister Minnie (or Mannie). More research needed. She may be Mattie M. aged 48 married to Walter R.(or maybe C.) Cook aged 52 on the 1930 census for Selma, Dallas, AL. He was the proprietor of a hardware store. She was married at age 26, and he was married at age 30. They had children Mary F. aged 21, and Walter M. aged 15. More research is needed in regard to this family. The same family was in the 1920 census with another person named James C. McQueen, aged 68, a widower lving with them. He is shown as a female, and some kind of in-law, but the writing is unclear. It does not look like father or mother-in-law. Still, that would seem to connect his wife to the McQueen family. Walter C. (or P.) was aged 42, and owner/manager of a hardware company. Mattie O. was aged 39, Walter M was aged 5 1/12, and Mary F. was aged 11.
