She was widowed at the time of her death. The informant appears to be Mrs. E. H. Brooks. Her parents were Mr. John C. Snow and Mrs. Margaret A. Hickman.

Her tombstone in Fairmount Cemetery gives her name as Esther Johnson Mayfied. She is buried with Johnson family members, and apparently there is another tombstone for Brooks Johnson with her grave. He might be a first husband. More research needed.
