Obit: Mrs. Rachel Janie (Daniel) Mothershed of 1302 S. Lake Elbert Dr., a prominent area citrus grower, died Saturday in Winter Haven Hospital. She was 91 years of age. A native of Crenshaw County, Ala, Mrs. Mothershed came to Winter Haven in 1907, and along with her husband, the late Robert W. Mothershed, owned and operated a Winter Haven grocery store. She was the second oldest living member of the First Baptist Church in Winter Haven in years of membership, was a member of Florida Citrus Mutual, and five years ago was awarded a 50-year pin in the Winter Haven Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Mothershed was a graduate of Highland Home College in Alabama where she also taught school. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Naomi Sedgwick of Tampa; four brothers, H. Grady Daniel of Winter Haven, R. A. Daniel of Plant City, G. G. Daniel of St. Petersburg, and P. C. Daniel of Wauchula; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jacob Gamble, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.
