The 1880 Butler Co., AL census, p. 304, shows Jos. G. age 36 AL SC GA and no wife; Annie Pearl 5 and James F. 2. In April 1992, Broyce sent more information on Josiah Goodson and his descendants. In 1870 he is in Butler Co., Household #483, age 26, farming with Dosha and Caroline Booker and their daughter Jane; a black family, and James Dees age 30, a farmer. One note says Mary Amanda? BEMc note, Apr 1992: "I copied these death notices about 20 years ago from news clippings contained in a genealogy file labeled "Daniel" at the State Archives Library in Montgomery, AL."
There are: 1 for "Joseph" G. Daniel (sic); 1 for James Frank Daniel, 3 notices of Joseph Frank. Greenville-Montgomery Adv, 4/16/31: Joseph G. Daniel (sic) - Funeral today (4/15/31) from his residence by Rev. T. J. Jones of Meth. Ch. Died Tuesday after long illness. Was merchant for many years, was one of the founders of The Bank of Greenville and at time of death was oldest member of First National Bank. (CSA Vet). Survivors: Widow, 1 son: J. Frank Daniel of
Greenville; 2 daughters; Mrs T. E. Greene of Greenville, Mrs Theo Brock of Georgiana.
