Note: This appears to be Nicolina. It was filed as Nolia James vs. Milton James. She filed for divorce alleging that he began a course of cruel treatment toward her which continued until on or about October 1st, 1941, at which time they separated, further living with him being insupportable. It said they had been married on or about March 15th, 1938. He waved his rights to appear on 5 Sep 1942. The divorce was granted 26th Oct 1942. Milton's signature on this document appears to probably be the same as that on his military draft registration card, thus, we believe this to be the correct divorce record.

Her birth certificate has Maud Daniel and Mamie Schaper (another school teacher) as witnesses. (e-mail from Jeri Bawden, 9 Jan 2004, 10:45 PM)
Becky Herring had copies of newspaper clippings that her grandmother, Mildred Scales, let her copy. Apparently they are from Waco newspapers, but there is no identification of dates or paper on them.
