Obituary:
Mrs. Henry Clay Rawlins, 87, who came to Lancaster as a bride in 1879, died there Thursday.
She was born in Winona, Miss. In Lancaster she lived on land which her husband's father had homesteaded.
She was member of the Church of Christ at Lancaster for nearly seventy years.
Surviving are her husband; a son, Pleas A Rawlins of Lancaster; six daughters, Mrs. Arthur Panter of Henrietta, Mrs. Ray [sic] Stuckey of Chillicothe, Mrs. Clyde Denton and Mrs. Lester Fitzhugh of Lancaster, and Mrs. Grover C. Page and Mrs. Claude B. Reed of Dallas; eighteen grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at Cole's Springs Church of Christ near Lancaster. Flavil L. Colley will officiate. Burial will be in Rawlins Cemetery.

She was Penina Adair Rawlins, residing Rt. 2, Lancaster, Dallas, Texas, born 16 Sep 1860, died 22 Jul 1948 in Pct. 5 Dallas County, Texas. She was aged 87 years, 10 month, and 8 days. She was a housewife, born in Winona, Mississippi. Her father was Pleasant Adair, born Mississippi, and her mother was Miss Herring, born in Mississippi. Mrs. C. B. Reed, 1406 Georgia, Dallas, Texas was the informant. She died of pneumonia lasting two days. Infirmity of old age as a contributing factor. She was buried 23 Jul 1948.

She and her husband have a joint tombstone. She is Penina Rawlins, 1860-1948, and he is H. Clay Rawlins, 1860-1951.
