On his World War I Draft registration, his next of kin was listed as Ada A. Soule, Rt. 5, Canton, Texas. He was a farmer. He had brown eyes and black hair. At the time of his mother's death, he was one of five sons named in the obituary. He lived in Ennis at the time. In his obituary, he was survived by two daughters, Mrs. Boykin Etheredge and Mrs. E. A. Cook, residents of Dallas. He also had three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Three brothers survived him. They were Albert of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sam of Los Angeles, and G. W. of Ennis. He had three surviving sisters. They were Mrs. J. J. Moore and Mrs. Fannie Hale of Mexia, and Mrs. L. Farris of Lometa.
