Collierville, TN: Robert Edwin Daniel age 81 passed away February 20, 2013 at the Methodist Hospital -Germantown.

Mr. Daniel was born in Montgomery, AL and moved to Henderson in 1945, the son of the late Samuel Ellison and Kattie Duncan Daniel. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1950 and attended Freed-Hardeman College studying pre-pharmacy and received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in Memphis.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1950 until 1954 during the Korean War. He married Joy Cherry in 1951 and they lived in several places while Mr. Daniel served in the Air Force. After the service they moved to Memphis where he finished his degree and began his career with Walgreen Pharmacy where he worked for 35 years. They had made their home in Collierville since 1998. He was a member of the Germantown Church of Christ.

Mr. Daniel is survived by his wife of 61 years Joy Cherry Daniel and two sons, Craig Daniel and wife Pam of Omaha, NE and Cary Daniel and wife Angela of Collierville and a daughter, Connie McLain and husband David of Houston, TX. He has a brother Sam Daniel and wife Sylvia of Memphis and a sister Ruth Daniel McCallum of Florence, AL. He has five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mr. Daniel was preceded in death by his brother Roy Daniel.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with David Sain and Cary Daniel officiating and burial will follow in Cabo Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Saturday.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the AGAPE Adoption Agency in Memphis.
