Charles Floyd Daniel Sr., 88 formerly of Searcy, Arkansas, passed away in Nashville after a lengthy battle with dementia on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019.

Mr. Daniel was born in Montgomery, Alabama. He was a proud graduate of Auburn University and served his country as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force.

He devoted his life to serving Jesus and his church, family, the many foster children they cared for in their home, the Harding University family and the work of the Children's Home. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his wisdom, humor and the joyful attention he lavished on each grandchild and great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by parents, John Tyson Daniel Sr. and Ethel Hart Daniel; brothers, J.T. Daniel and Gerald Lee Daniel; beloved wife of 62 years, Juanita Daniel; and grandson, Michael Daniel.

He's survived by son, Dan (Donna) Daniel of Franklin; daughter, Nita (Tony) Woodruff of Scottsdale, Arizona; son, John Daniel of Dallas; grandchildren, Bonnie Daniel (Marshall) Rabil of Franklin, Virginia, Beau (Whitney) Daniel of Nashville, Becky Daniel of Franklin, Brian Daniel of Nashville, Anthony (Melissa) Woodruff of Scottsdale, Daniel (Jordan) Woodruff of Scottsdale, Jonathan (Christina) Woodruff of Knoxville and Susanna Daniel of Nashville; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will honor his life with a private gathering at a later date and requests memorials be made to Harding University, 915 E. Market Ave., Searcy, AR 72149, or the Children's Homes, 5515 Walcott Rd., Paragould, AR 72450.

Mr. Daniel was born in Montgomery, Alabama. He was a proud graduate of Auburn University and served his country as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force.

He devoted his life to serving Jesus and his church, family, the many foster children they cared for in their home, the Harding University family and the work of the Children's Home. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his wisdom, humor and the joyful attention he lavished on each grandchild and great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by parents, John Tyson Daniel Sr. and Ethel Hart Daniel; brothers, J.T. Daniel and Gerald Lee Daniel; beloved wife of 62 years, Juanita Daniel; and grandson, Michael Daniel.
