W. J. Mothershead, Veteran, husband of M.E., daughter of Wm J. & Emillie Daniel From The Mothershead Family (1975) quoting Annie Bell Story. "When my grandfather enlisted for the war, he went from his home in Crenshaw Co., near Savaille and Highland Home, which was originally called 'Argus'. On August 1, 1863 on leaving his home for the last time he placed some money in the hands of his two little girls, Millie and Fannie. Aunt Millie told me in 1934 that she still had that money. He went on to Mobile, where he enlisted, but before leaving there he bought The Holy Bible and sent it back to grandma. He died on 1 Sep 1864 and is buried at Macon, Georgia."
